I just got done with my freshman collegiate season and had a pretty good mark at 47'9, but that's not the point. I'm really wondering how to get farther throws; I'm patient, trust me, but I've only touched 47' a couple times after the season ended a month ago. I notice that my left arm doesnt block sometimes, and when I think about blocking it, something else goes wrong.
It has always been my felling that when you think about throwing that is when you start to have problems. The way I coach my athletes is I break down each and every movement to the point that they can fell every step and postition. Ideal I would make them work on drills until they are able to exicute the movement almost perfectly. By then they are able to tell me what they did wrong and are able to fix it them selves. But in your case I would talk to your coach and see what they have to say. I mean you just finished your freshmen year. Sit down with your coach and see what he/she is planning for you. They may have drills for you that you weren't quite ready for this year. And as always continue weight training.
Coach Mac once said if you think about your left (non-throwing) you're not thinking about throwing. Get that arm out of the way and use it to rotate/lift quicker. Throwing the left side down and back will have the opposite effect on the right side. Watch video of yourself and see what your left arm does the majority of the time. Ask your coach where it should be and when...
