Probably the best drill that you can do would be to work on your pivits, 90, 180, 270, 360. Work on those making sure to keep all of your weight on the left foot (if your right handed) and vis versa. Also while doing this make sure you shoulders are level. I like to make my kids do this drill with a piece of PVC on their shoulders so they can see if they are level. The key to the rotational shot is making sure that you don't pull your nonthrowing arm out the back. You have to keep your head up and your shoulders level at all times. Most people don't have trouble with that if they are doing a south african. So what I like to do is have them step through each part of the throw. Piviot to 90, jump to the middle with the head and chest up and the shoulders level. Then kick through the 4 position and piviot your feet, making sure the shoulders are level and the head is up. It sounds to me like you might be crashing in the middle and most times that is caused by either pulling the nonthrowing arm out the back which leads to the other point of not having level shoulders out the back. This will ultimatly increase your balance in the middle because your weight will be more centered during the throw.
I hope this helps
