TOPIC: Connection with the Javelin
#130
Connection with the Javelin 2 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 6
I have a pretty good understanding of the Javelin, but one thing I want a better understanding of is how to keep good connection with the Jav. Over the past year I have worked more with my athletes on keeping a bent right arm and try to feel a stretch response (connection) to the Jav. I also work on them pulling over the top.

Does anyone have any good suggestions or can suggest any good articles, videos, etc, that give a more in depth explanation of the right arm delivery. Since I never through javelin competitively, it is just a little harder to explain what the throw should feel like.

I dont know what u mean by the bent right arm as connection with the javelin are you talking about the pull?

if that is the case you want you pull as big as u can get it... this takes having a straight right arm (right handed thrower) at this point arm speed and release angle do the rest during the connection
